Custom Programming Needed - image transparency and positioning related

Hi there, I have a client who is in need of a custom feature inside of gallery. What we would like to do is have the ability to easily overlay one image over another image, on the fly, and change the transparency so that the bottom image can be viewed through the top image. We would also like to be able to move the top (or bottom) image in the x/y directions to help line up the subject matter in the images. This feature will be used by people to compare differences in the subject matter. The users will need the ability to choose the images, in an easy way, inside of the normal gallery construct. Is this possible within the gallery framework? |

I want to say that this is possible using Imagemagick within gallery but I can tell you that it will not be easy to accomplish. I would have liked to tackle this project for you but I'm totaly overloaded currently with my job.
If you haven't find anyone in a couple of month I will probably be more available then

We might take you up on that offer depending on who else might respond to this post. I just had another meeting with the client, and it's definitely something we want to have the capability to do.
