Best way to upload from form...

Hi everybody, this is my first post here.

Just would like to be guided in the right direction to handle uploads via forms.
I'm using gallery 2.1 as an engine to handle photos, but rendering everything for myself.

I manage to fetch info from gallery via GalleryEmbed and GalleryCoreApi.

Now, would like to show a form to users, for them to upload photos.
Should I use an instance of ItemAddFromBrowser for uploads?
Or am I shooting blindly?
