Before upgrading my gallery site to v.2.1, I uploaded the latest checkout moduls (0.1.14, 0.0.7, 0.1.9)by overwriting the previous releases. When I log into my Admin site now, checkout dissapeared from the Admin Options. In the commerce modules block i still find all three modules with exclamation mark: Incompatible module!
Core API Required: 7.2 (available: 7.1) Doesn´t seem to be a big deal, but I haven´t got a clue, please help, Thanks!

You've started off on the right track - now you need to carry on and upgrade to Gallery 2.1 before you can re-activate the Checkout modules. The G2.1 installer will do the module upgrades for you since you've already uploaded the new versions, but I'm not sure if it automatically re-activates them afterwards as well.

During the upgrade procedure the G2.1 installer wasn´t able to upgrade the 3 checkout modules, even the new ones were recognized. That´s the problem. The option to deactivate, upgrade or deinstall is not given, only the message: "Incompatible module! Core API Required: 7.2 (available: 7.1)" . Should I delete them from my webroot and start uploading the latest checkout modules again?

What version of Gallery are you upgrading to? 2.1 as released has core API vesion 7.2 - I'm not sure what has 7.1, but it looks like that's what you've downloaded from somewhere! What happens if you go ahead and upgrade Gallery without upgrading the Checkout modules (just uncheck them on the module upgrade step), then go and look at modules in the site admin page?

The upgrade version I used is 2.1-RC-2a, not the official release. Could that be a reason?

Ah yes - that is the reason. The modules support API version 7.2 available in the official release, but not version 7.1 as found in RC2a. Is there any reason you need to use the RC rather than final release?

No, there isn´t! I´ve got version 2.1-RC-2a from a computer mag and installed it without checking for final releases. I´m unzipping the offical version right now ontop of it. I´let you know about the result in a short while.

Ok, the upgrade was successful, checkout modules are updated! Looks perfect on the Admin page.
Unfortunately setting the group permissions for -add to cart-, and -purchase Items- will not display the 'add to cart' line under the photos of the album pages anymore. But the same happened to the -view comments- option. Anyway, if you no a solution please let me know. Thank you for your advises!
