2.1: Simple RSS Feeds don't generate <link> items?

I'm playing with the new RSS support in 2.1, and I note that if you enabled configurable feeds and manually create a feed, it generates <link> elements (so that the RSS icon in e.g. Firefox and IE7 light up). However, the "simple" RSS feeds don't generate <link> elements, which makes them a bit more difficult to subscribe to.

Am I missing something?
