Command Line Global Image Rebuild

I'm looking for a command line way to tell gallery2 to rebuild all the thumbnail and images across all my directories. I tried using the Site Administration ->Build all thumbnails/resizes link. The problem is that I have over 6k images and the browser seems to time out. Is there a way to can do it over the command line and not have to deal with the browser?

I had the same problem and started the ->Build all thumbnails/resizes three or for times again and in the and it finished, not a good solution but it worked
