I may be unclear here, but I am successful in getting pictures to how as markers but not albums. As far as I can tell this is a function of the module and I should be able to do it right? I checked all the documentation I could (it is a little hard to follow, fwiw). Thanks for any info!

Hello and welcom :-)

- Which version of the module are you using ?
- What error are you getting (if any) ?
- Do you have a link to your gallery ?

Thanks

Thanks so much for the reply. I am getting NO error, just NO markers (on albums), I can see the markers properly on pictures...so weird. I am using the latest 0.4.9c. Here is a link to the gallery, I will drop the shields as well. ;-)

oh, and the album that should be showing markers on the map is:

Thanks for any help!

I think you are confusing the Map Module and the Map Theme. These
are two completely separate entities and have nothing in common
with one another. I see that 'Show Google Map' brings up a map
with two markers on it. Both of these markers are associated with
images in the 'On The Road' album. Clicking on either of these
markers appears to work as expected. Clicking on the 'On The Road'
album appears to bring up a map with no markers. This album appears
to have been assigned the Map Theme (not to be confused with the
Map Module). The Map Theme requires the creation of a custom field
named GPS (uppercase) where the coordinates would be entered.
If you have not already done so, please see HERE.

Thanks for the reply.

I am purposely using the Map module to calculate the lat and long of the pics easily, and yes choosing Show Google Map does show that I correctly have the pictures configured with the custom GPS field.

However, my issue is that I am using the Map theme on the travel album, and it does not show the sub albums of /travel/ even though they are configured with the pictures GPS custom field. Do I need to eliminate the pictures custom field and use an album custom field named GPS instead???

Thanks so much to all of you who are spending time on helping me with this!

I have never tried using the Map Theme on an album with
sub albums. Since you have added the GPS field to all
of the images and they are not appearing, go ahead and
try assign the field to the album level of the sub album
and see what happens. I'd do it; but, I don't have the
time at them moment. :-( What may happen is a marker (a
red one) will show up on the map marking the sub album
and when clicked, will open a new map containing the markers
for all the images in the sub album (just guessin' here).
The sub album may need to have the Map Theme applied to it.

If you send me a PM with some admin credential (temporary) I can take a look at it ;)

It should be working

Ok, it turned out the GPS cutsom filed was only for photos (like galmoid said).

If you make the GPS custom field a "Common" field then it show up for both albums and photos and fomr that point you can add GPS coordinates for both item type and so you can see then on your map ;)

Good luck

See you

wow, thanks that makes total sense. After being a long time user of the simple gallery 1, gallery 2 is like a whole new OS!

Thanks again to all who helped, big time over the top kudos to TERMITENSHORT.

Adding a Common Field is the solution.

Andy :)
