Hi, i've got a problem and i think i must be missing something because i've looked at loads of other sites with the gallery module installed and they are all fine. My site is www.trishmcdonough.com/gallery2/map/ on the opening map you'll see a handful of markers to galleries in the uk, if you pan the map east you'll see a couple of markers in europe, but the uk markers will disappear. Why is this? How can i fix it? i guessing i've missed some obvious option or instruction, sorry if i'm just being dumb. thanks in advance, |

Do you have the "Dateline fix" enable in the Admin Panel. If yes I woiuld suggest disabeling it.
I never really look into this very closely I simply used the solution proposed in the Google-Groups but It might be that a side effect of "fixing" the problem with the dateline creates another problem with GMT line ...
Let us know.

Yep! that was it! Thanks! I don't even actually know what the dateline problem is, just when i first installed the module i skimread the other forum and saw some people posting about the international dateline problem so when i saw the fix i clicked on it. That'll teach me!
Great module! thanks a lot! trish xx

The dateline fix is made to prevent the behaviour you just observe around the datelin (in the pacific over there)
So I guess with the fix enable, it "moves" the problem over to the GMT line ... never ending story.
I need to find a better way....

It seems ( from the map-api forums ) it is stil a bit of a issue in V2 of the API as well.

Yes and also there isn't a good way to correct it just yet ... (last time I checked at least)

Out of curiosity, which version of the module are you using currently ?

hi i upgraded yesterday to 0.4.9c, when i posted i think i was using 0.4.7d. Things change quickly around here!
i upgraded because i thought it might help another problem i was having, i.e. the map wouldn't load anymore, but i found the solution from the old topic - i'd saved an empty co-ordinate (,) in one of the albums. So now the main map loads fine but the 'get via a map' map doesn't. i'm getting the same 3 script errors as before, syntax error, mywidth undefined and myzoom undefined. any ideas?

The same thing happen to me yesterday while trying to develop a "new" feature.
It might be a bug (or misuse). This means you have an item located in the database that has bogus coordinates. I'm not sure how it got there but it's probably empty coordinates or something of the sort.
When it happenned to me I removed the coordinates from 1 item and then saved. map works, but Get via map didn't. Putting the coordinates back in the item made the all thing work again.
Another solution is to access the table mapMap and filter by value, if you see an empty value (either on top or at the bottom), delete it. it should be fine then.
I will look into that as well it could be a bug of some sort.
Anyways, the reason why I was asking is because I saw a bunch of bugs on your gallery ... So I guess i'll take a look at those as well ...
Thanks!

hi, thanks for the suggestion but there wasn't a blank coord.... shortly after having a look i somehow managed to knacker the gallery entirely, it wouldn't save any admin settings (some error), so i downgraded the map again (random attempt at a solution), this helped the saving problem but then the legend and filter insisted on showing despite it being set not to show the sidebar. so i reinstalled the matrix template (twice as it cached or something the first time) and now the whole things is working again, including the 'get via map' map. so i'm just not going to touch it anymore.... good luck with those bugs! thanks for your help.
