Anybody using OpenCube menus?

I'm using OpenCube for my menus. I inserted the code into my theme.tpl file and adjusted the paths to the js files, but the menu bar is coming out squished. I commented out the theme.css and there's no difference, so I'm kind of stumped.

Here's the way it should look: www.lakeminnewaska.org (top menu bar)

and here's the way it looks in Gallery: www.lakeminnewaska.org/gallery2

Thanks in advance.

Well I tracked this down to the !DOCTYPE of all things. I didn't realize that the DOCTYPE did anything important. When I removed the DOCTYPE altogether, the OpenCube menu displayed properly. The rest of the page displayed almost correctly, but lots of things were off.

Anyone have any advice? Does that mean my OpenCube menu thing is not compliant? That would be surprising as it's used by huge companies all over the world.

This is a very pleasing result. Nice.

samlewit: the DOCTYPE effects which rendering mode browsers go in to when displaying your page. see http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/javascript/synd/2001/08/28/doctype.html for some more details. Probably just some CSS quirk thats handled differently in different modes. (I use a CSS menu on my site and it works fine with a doctype: http://ckdake.com/gallery/)

I actually did this myself (fixed the DOCTYPE problem) and it seems that the Infinite Menus system is much cleaner and faster anyway. Good move. I'm no "ace", but I did mine in just about an hour. It shouldn't be too tough for you. The interface is pretty similar to Nav.

Just a word of advice for both of you. Try turning off javascript and then using the open cube menu ;) surprising isn't it?

remember noscript tag is your friend in that case.
