I've looked all over and searched the forums and just can't find it even though it's probably simple: How do I make url= BBCode tags so they open in a new window instead of in the same window as they do by default?

I'm sure I'm missing something :)

so this has nothing to do with gallery?

bbcode? depends on the forum you're using. don't think most forums have a bbcode option whether to open bbcode links in a new window or not.

no forum.... gallery. You can put links in captions, descriptions and the like by using the URL button which in turn uses a bbcode-like [ url ] tag.

ah, sorry. so this is about the bbcode in g2 itself.
as far as i see there's no option to switch between opening new links in new windows or not.

you can file a feature request if you want at http://sf.net/projects/gallery/ -> RFE
and if you want to hack it yourself see:
lib/bbcode/bbcode.class

I'm very keen to have this bbcode option as well..

Anyone, has anyone found the solution to this riddle about editing the the base files maybe even the bbcode.class for creating URLs in a new window. I am too interested in a solution about this.

Sorry but no - that bbcode.class made no sense to me whatsoever, and I wasn't interested to dig through code for hours to find where to make the change.

Check out the code in this message: http://gallery.menalto.com/node/37003

I think that answers your question. It takes a little digging, and you have to update it anytime you update your installation. I would like to see this as a feature in future versions.

BTW, there is a feature request for this. Go vote for it! #1262123
