Hi, first thanks for a really nice app. I'd like to be able to use the spanish ñ,á,é,í,ó,ú with Gallery Remote. |

There shouldn't be any remaining problems with Gallery 2 and GR 1.5.1-b7. -- |

You need to actually reproduce the problem before attaching the log for it to be useful... -- |

The main problem is when I include in Gallery Remote a description like "Meirás" in spanish, in the web of Gallery appear "Meir´a;s". |

jppaz, you can fix that issue (in your latest post) by disabling HTML escaping in the GR preferences. -- |

Using GR 151-b8 on a Windows XP SP2 - German Edition. Having the same problems with vowels as mentioned above. Seems to be a UTF-8 problem. I can't find the "HTML escaping" option in the GR preferences, where do i have to look? |

In the Upload section, check the 'Allow HTML markup in captions and extra fields' checkbox (the last one on the page). -- |

If i check it, it won't do anything. In the left tree navigation pane vowel characters aren't showed correctly. I checked and unchecked the option (with restarting GR each time). Seems only to work for upload file names. I also read in another thread that i could (maybe) change some stuff in the GalleryRemote.properties file. The file doesn't exists on my whold hdd (deep scanned right now). Is the Information stored differently with latest release of GR? |

C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\Angels\.GalleryRemote\ does not exists. (should be the correct path on my german machine) As i told before i can't find a GalleryRemote.properties on the whole C drive. I enabled to view all hidden and system files. It is simply not there. |

OK then. For some reason GR isn't able to create the directory for the preferences file. Could you attach the log of starting GR, changing the preference and quitting? http://codex.gallery2.org/index.php/GalleryRemote:FAQ#Log.2C_what_log.3F -- |

Attached the GalleryRemoteLog.txt file. I removed my galleryaccount before for security reasons. Started GR and switched the "HTML markup" option ON. Hope this spits out some solution path |

I just found the GalleryRemote.properties file. d:\.GalleryRemote\Galleryremote.properties. GR itself is installed under c:\Programme\Gallery Remote and it is used by GR (double checked that) - my vowel problem isnt solved (even with playing around with the properties file) |

The htmlEscapeCaptions setting should be off in your preferences file. Could you attach the log of logging in to your gallery, so I can see what GR receives? -- |

KuroTenshi: whish version of G2 are you using? I think this is solved in G 2.0.2. Basically, the problem is that the server, while it sends back UTF-8, says it's sending back ISO-8859-1, so GR gets confused. -- |

KuroTenshi: G2 always uses UTF-8, there are no settings. If you already do use G 2.0.2, that means the fix is in a later version. You can get that by downloading one of the daily snapshots (use one from last week rather than a very recent one: we have just added lots of changes this week so slightly older builds are better). -- |
