hi all
ive got this problem with the modules page in admin
its not there when i go to it, its compleatly blank :( just a blank page.
all the other pages show in admin but not the modules page.
This is weird as ive got another gallery2 running on the same server and its all there
Ive compared the main gallery directories and there is no difference.
but ive just noticed that there are 46 items in the modules dir of g2 that dosnt show compared to 17 in the modules dir of g2 that does show the modules page. I dont know why this is as I think I installed from the same g2 download
now im really confused
Im not that experienced with server stuff and things like this but thought if i del the mod dir that dosn't work I could replace it with the mod dir of the one that does work?... but this might be a really stupid thing and it may have noyhing to do with the problem.
Also thought it might be a config thing if so what do I look at to compare ?
im using gallery2 with matrix theme it works fine, I think apart from this, its at
http://zcat.blagblagblag.org

thanks for any help pointers
any info I can paste in to help just tell me where to find it

Why do I get the error Allowed memory size of Xxx bytes exhausted?
havent got any error messages but tried that, it didnt work, i upped the mem to 24 from 16 and it had absolutly no effect
should I change it back?
thanks anyway

not all errors are shown right away, it depends on the php/server configuration.

you can check if you changed the php limit successfully by browsing to

http://zcat.blagblagblag.org/gallery2/lib/support/ -> phpinfo (note that this is password protected, so if you want us to see the settings, you'll have to create a phpinfo file in your gallery2 folder.

im not sure what i should be looking for as i cant see any mention of php limit but i see that the modules loaded look like this

core prefork http_core mod_so mod_access mod_auth mod_auth_anon mod_auth_dbm mod_auth_digest util_ldap mod_auth_ldap mod_include mod_log_config mod_env mod_mime_magic mod_cern_meta mod_expires mod_deflate mod_headers mod_usertrack mod_unique_id mod_setenvif mod_mime mod_dav mod_status mod_autoindex mod_asis mod_info mod_dav_fs mod_vhost_alias mod_negotiation mod_dir mod_imap mod_actions mod_speling mod_userdir mod_alias mod_rewrite mod_proxy proxy_ftp proxy_http proxy_connect mod_cache mod_suexec mod_disk_cache mod_file_cache mod_mem_cache mod_cgi mod_auth_mysql sapi_apache2 mod_ssl

but im still no closer to understanding why i cant see the modules page or what to do to get it back though the fact that ive got 46 modules in the modules dir when I should only have 17 as I dont remember adding then, still confusses me.
thanks

Well just to try it i copied the modules dir elsewhere and then deleted it !
then I coppied my other modules dir into its place (this one only had 17 modules in it)
then I log in into admin and hey presto the modules page works with the same modules I got in my other gallery.
so it all seems to work now, kool but why?
I guess it will remain one of those unsolved mysteries :)
thanks for you time
