Small gallery integration project

I've got an existing PHP based website. I need some help integrating G2 into one page as a photo gallery. Fundamentally, I want a grid of photo thumbnails to show up with the comments below each image. Linked to the full size images.

Info on the task:

• I want the page to look integrated into my site, so the G2 CSS, navigation, etc will need to be stripped out.
• I don't want anybody browsing to be able to click on an image and wind up in G2.
• Eventually we may want to display multiple albums in the in-site gallery, so it would be good to support album->photos type structures.
• I'd like to control what album(s) are visible in the in-site gallery by setting user permissions in G2.

I think this is a pretty trivial integration for somebody who knows the API, but I don't have the time to wade through the G2 code to learn it. I've gotten a basic embed done which works fine, but I need to get the user permissions working, and strip out all of the G2 UI.

I think one possible approach would be to embed G2 into the page and customize the CSS and templates. Another may be to get a list of the items in the G2 album(s) in question and generate the PHP/HTML code to link to the thumbnails, etc.
