When will features become part of a release?

It's been a long time since the 'feature-vote' was introduced. When can we expect the features to be build/released?

a few of the feature requests from sfvote have already been added to the cvs version of g2.
others are worked on and some make it into G2.1.

The feature vote is to give the developers on the team (and maybe some who are not yet?) an idea of what is popular. Someone *still* has to actually be interested in writing the feature, doing all the work. Nobody is holding all these features in a bag of done goodies, waiting for their vote to go up or something ;)

the votes are quite useful in helping us learn which new features are most wanted, or which bugs are most troublesome. however, lots of votes doesn't give us people or time to work on these things.. we are still greatly under resourced for the number of requests you see there. there's also a lot work going on for 2.1 in refinement and optimization in addition to new features. several items have been completed.. in fact, starting with some user-contributed code posted right here in the forums we got the former #1 item implemented (show all comments).

I still think the development work should be more focused upon the features users want.

Can you think of any ways to motivate more developers to help on these most-wanted features?

Right... ummm, as the G2 team has been focused on features users don't want. Good call! :)

I might also point out that *somewhere* there is *someone* who wants the feature you don't think users want!
