wanted: feature - files to be uploaded to a seperate server

I was wondering if anyone could give me a rough quote for a feature that would enable users' files to be uploaded to another server? possibley an anonymous (or private) ftp server? whichever's best.

I have a drupal installation with gallery2 integrated with one web host which places a limit on my storage space. and one web hosting account where i can't use drupal because of restrictions placed on mySQL user permissions but provides me with "unlimited" disk space and bandwidth

This project is buy no means definate, I just want to know roughly how much I'm looking at here...

I wouldn't mind if the code was open-source.
