Hi everybody,

The questions are rights user.
I have a lot of difficulty to find what I’m looking for and I’m not sure it’s possible.

First of all, is it possible to have only one album per user? I mean that they can not add others, 1 user = 1 album.

My other problem is that user X can upload on the album of user Y, how can I restrict the X user to his own album?

The last thing is, if I want for example a gallery of musicians and a gallery of painters and I don’t want a "mix gallery", how can I separate it? Should I use the multi-site feature (available at the installation)?

A little detail, I’m using Joomla 1.03. Gallery 2.01 with the bridge 2.08

Any suggestions are welcome !

Sincerely,

Jim

g2 already has the useralbum module. if you use that, users can only add new items / new sub-albums in their own user album.

a gallery for musicians and a gallery of painters? do you mean gallery or just different albums?
multisites are 2 completely separate galleries, they don't even share users.

Thank you for your answer valiant,

What is this user album module? I know gallery2_comments, _imagev2.4, _sidev2.4 but not this one where can I find it?

I mean both of them!
There are different albums (each artist have his own album that he can manage himself) in different categories ("galleries").
For example: I have one album of painter and one album of musician, I don’t want that a musician album be mixed with a painter album in the same "gallery" (album list).
So I need two different categories of albums list one for painters and one for musicians.
I hope it’s not too confused!

Sincerely,

Jim

g2 has its own modules, this has nothing to do with mambo.
g2: site admin -> modules

G2 does have it's own user album module but it is incompatible with the Mambo/Joomla embedding component from http://dev.4theweb.nl/

com_gallery2 v2.0.9 and the soon to be released v2.0.10 require that the user album module in G2 be disabled/uninstalled.

The current version, v2.0.9, does not have the range of G2 album permissions that the upcoming v2.0.10 will have. I recommend that you wait for the release of the new version.
