Good Day All,

I am starting a fresh install of Joomla 1.0.3 and am having an issue setting up gallery 1.5.1.

I have an existing instance of Mambo using the same Mysql db/Gallery installation and am wondering if exsiting tables may have caused the issue.

Initially, I pointed the Joomla component installer to the contrib/mambo directory and got a error message that I killed prior to really reading. I tried to install again to recreate the error and got a different message saying that the file was in use by anoother component. However, the Gallery component does not apprear on the list of installed components. Is the Gallery component partially installed? If so, how do I uninstall?

Was my issue caused by the older Mambo installation?

Thanks for the help.

Hi,

I think your Joomla install is using the database prefix "jos_" and your Mambo installation the prefix "mos_".
The prefix "mos_" is hardcoded in the component in the contrib/mambo directory.
To install the Gallery component to Joomla you can use the files from the latest Gallery 1.5.2 CVS Version (gallery/contrib/joomla) or download a component with the new files from here: http://www.gallery-addons.com/component/option,com_remository/Itemid,129/func,fileinfo/id,21/

Hope that helps
Kai

Thanks Kai. Unfortunately, I still get the following error:
"Another component is already using directory: "/home/site/public_html/joomla/components/com_gallery/""

I think I have a partial install of the mambo component that is not displaying. How would I go about cleaning the partial install? Normally I would uninstall. But there is nothing listed to unistall.

You can manual delete the folder joomla/components/com_gallery and joomla/administrator/components/com_gallery.
