'lost' tree view on left of page in Classic theme

I have been playing around with themes to get the look and feel I would like.

I am sure when I first set Classic as the default theme I have a tree navigation structure on the left (like http://www.bzangygroink.co.uk/gallery2/Sweden/ this site) but since some tweaks it is no longer there and I can't get it back.

I have tried adding everything onto the sidebar in the Classic section of the Themes part of the admin and even uninstalling Classic theme and reinstalling it (this restored a lot of setting to default but didn't bring the menu back)

Any ideas would be really appreciated.

Thank you!

i guess you didn't change the theme in
site admin -> themes -> classic

you (also) changed it directly for a specific album (e.g. top album) with
edit album -> theme

the settings in edit album -> theme override the default settings from site admin -> themes -> classic.

you'll have to edit it again in edit album -> theme

At the moment it is set up so that all the albums use the default theme in the edit album > theme settings.

I have then set the default theme in the site admin to Classic.

The problem is that I can't find an option to have the album tree reappear in the Site Admin > Themes > Classic options, all I can add to the pages are:

Show Comments
EXIF/IPTC info
Search Box
Language Selector
Item Actions
Login Block
Links to album/photo peers

adding all of these in all areas doesn't bring up what I need.

Is this making sense!?

Thanks for your help

so adding the search box block actually works, right?
you're just missing the album select blocks in this list.

well, looks like you have to install / activate the album select module :)
in
site admin -> modules.

Bingo, I installed the module and now I have the tree navigation. I think I may be losing my mind as, unless something *very* bizarre happened it was never there in the first place.

Thanks and great software, I'm off to explore all these other modules now.
