This site should really have a minimum width (say about 800px). It looks really bad when the browser is narrowed and elements are allowed to overlap each other. |

I tried the change you suggested here and it had no effect.. I guess you didn't really look at how our header is constructed when you claimed this is such an easy change. Also min-width has no effect on IE. I spent several hours today reworking the header to avoid absolute positioning for the links, to make a minimum width possible. Ho hum, gee that was fun. I'll look it over again and push the change out tomorrow.

No need to be snide, I was merely suggesting the general way one sets a site's min-width.

sorry, guess i just didn't like all the complaints coming in, of which yours was just one, unrelated to the improvements made recently, just giving me more website work which takes away from time working on the product.. in the midst of all that it reads like "why are you guys so dumb you didn't put in this one line" even when not written that way. we could really use more help.

min-width changes have been in place now for a few days, for the main site and docs (codex.gallery2.org).
let us know if there are any glitches as this change was not trivial, and had to work around several browser compatibility issues. the one known issue now is IE with large fonts wraps the main content below the sidebar; with normal size fonts this can happen, but only for a very narrow browser window.

Hello, I hope this ie related to the same issue. For a while now, things (like track thread) appears way down at the bottom of the page (for me at least). The actual threads listed don't start until the right sidebar ends. This leaves a huge blank white space scroll down just to see the threads. This is not the only place I have seen this behavior, it has also been doing this on either search threads or regular threads at times. I know it is still doing it on the track because I was just there. I have not experienced this on any other sites other than here.
I'm at 1025x768 on a 19 inch using ie 6.0.2800.1106
please be advised

I have just experienced the problem in the regular forums at this url. http://gallery.menalto.com/forum I accessed it from another page here, but can't remember which one.
The image I have attched shows the main forums positioned below the end of the right sidebar, creating a huge amount of whitespace to scroll just to see the forums. Look way at the bottom to see the top of the forums. Again, I'm using ie 6.0.2800.1106 on a 19" at 1024x768 and I use medium font size.

I have just encountered another site width problem/bug/ugliness...
See the attached gif file. Threads run very wide and header stays compact.
same bat time, same bat channel...
