Album - Description - only on the first page or hide I suggest to make an option so admin can decide whether or not he want to see Album Description on all pages of the Album or only of the first one. Also their can be added an option, like javascript button or URL to hide/roll up Album Description. I ask for this because some albums have big descriptions and it is not aesthetics to see it on every page as it (description) eat a lot of pages' space. My album is configured to use the Matrix theme. And first of all I ask this one for it. Thanks. |

g2 has a title, summary and a description for each item (photo / album).
g2 shows the title and the summary on album pages for each thumbnail and it shows the title and the description for the album on album pages and for the photo on photo pages.
what's the purpose of entering long descriptions when you don't want to see them?

Description
This is the long description of the item.
• The purpose of entering long descriptions is very simple - because they cann't be shorter! As you see yourself, there is word "long" in sentence "This is the long description of the item."
• The other purpose of the function I ask to implement is that not every man want to see the same text even it will not big on every of, let's say, 30-ty pages of that album.
• Another reason as I said before, that any description eats valuable space of the album page.

this makes sense to me. could be done as a theme customization or in your own theme.
if you want to see such an option in the matrix theme, feel free to file a feature request on http://sf.net/projects/gallery/ -> RFE
if this option would enable / disable the javascript thing, then it makes sense IMO. if this option would enable / disable the description, then it doesn't make much sense to me in regard to your problem with long descriptions. just don't enter (long) descriptions in that case.
