The search functionality of Gallery is excellent for its intended purpose. As is the Drupal search functionality. What I would like to do is us one search interface to give the textual search results for Drupal post as well as disply thumnails of images for gallery searches. Has there been any work done to better integrate the Drupal search capabilities with Gallery2. If not I may have to settle for 2 different search boxes. One would be better and less confusing for visitors. ------------------ |

g2 already exposes it's search API to integrations. if drupal doesn't use it, it's the call of the drupal integration authors (mainly walkah, but also MichelleC).

The search is integrated in Drupal. Go to /search part of your website and you will see a gallery tab to allow you to search the gallery. Right now it just provides links to photos and albums without any thumbnails.

Yes, I was already aware of the extra gallery tab in the drupal search and as you rightly pointed out it provides text links. What I was after was thumbnail links. Does anyone know if this capability exists or not yet?
From the above comments perhaps this is a question that I should be asking in the Drupal forums?

Thumbnails in searches do not yet exist. You may want to add this as a feature request on the Drupal Gallery forum ( http://drupal.org/project/issues/gallery ).
