Hi all,

when i am logged in as admin and switch the display mode to"guest" a "Create Link"-Link in the sidebar is still visible. I was first a little bit confused and searched on how to deactivate that every guest can create a link. After logging out and acting as i guest i said to me "aha" - ;)

Bye Lars.

Gallery version (not just "2"): 2.01

You're not the first person to complain about this, but I've never been able to reproduce this and as far as I know none of the devs have either. If I'm logged in as an admin and click on "guest" the "Create Link" option goes away, just like everything else.

I was sufering from exactly the same symptoms and have a possibe cause - In my case I am running gaallery embeded into wordpress and you need to be sure to log out of admin on the CMS as well as on gallery.

Hope this helps.

Create link shows up for any user who has the ability to add items to any album.
Logout (become guest) and pick "Create Link".. look in the listbox of possible albums where you can place the link. That will tell you where you need to check permissions.

That is the point. If i logged out, i didn´t see a "Create Link" at the same pic i saw it before the logout! So it should not be a permission problem...

My gallery is standalone so nowhere included - the only "not standard fresh install"-thing is that i impoted my old G1.

Bye Lars.

guest preview mode is not perfect. there are some features of G2 that are not respecting the guest preview mode.
guest preview mode should just be a rough preview of what guests would see, it's not 100% correct.

looked briefly at this and the fix isn't trivial, as getItemLinks module api doesn't get the acting user id.
you can file a bug for this on sourceforge if you like, but we'll live with it for now.

It is not such an important thing. I can live with that also. It was more a problem at the moment i found it...
