Unable to write to .htaccess

hi!

i went through the setupt process without any problems, but at the end i gat an error message:

Unable to write to /is/htdocs/***/***/meins/gallery/.htaccess

i wanted to chmod the .htaccess-file with ws_ftp le but i can't even find the .htacces-file. i am sure i uploaded it and when i look at the permission-menu of my webhoster i can see that there is a .htaccess-file.

now, how can i chmod this file now?

Give us your Gallery/webserver information to get a faster answer.
Get this information from the PHP diagnostic (in the configuration wizard).
Gallery URL (optional but very useful):
Gallery version: 1.3.3
Apache version: 1.3.26
PHP version (don't just say PHP 4, please): 4.2.3
Operating system: Linux
Web browser/version (if applicable):

Any file with a full stop (.) in front of it automatically is hidden when uploaded.

To view hidden files with ws_ftp le, open the program and type "-la" (without the quotes) into the white box on the right side and hit refresh. You will then be able to see the .htaccess file to chmod it.
