optimal setting for memory in mysql, phpm and apache

PHP version = 5.0.5 apache2handler
Webserver = Apache/2.0.54 (Win32) PHP/5.0.5
Database = mysql 4.1.14-nt
Toolkits = Exif, ImageMagick, Thumbnail, Gd
Operating system = Windows NT GAMA 5.2 build 3790
Browser = Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050908 Firefox/1.4

was wondering what the best memeory settings would be for a very lage collection of pics (53k+)
like for mysql php and apache.
some of the them are very large wallpapers and high res dvd covers.
and which pic toolkit is the fastest for large high res pics.

Your idea of high res, probably isn't the same as someone else's. How large is the largest file you anticipate will be used?

How much memory is installed in the server? Is there a reason why you're using NT instead of 2000 or something else more recent?

Do you have full control of the server and is it used for anything else (or any other sites)?

1600x1200 500kb wallpaper and 2142x1449 dvd covers with some of them at 3megs and maybe larger pics hiting the 20meg jpg mark
1 gig if ram
and the os is win2k3 statndard edition server win32
yes the gallery is on a personal lan
