I'm not so sure about Drupal... lots of problems it seems?

I was really excited when I first saw this new site come up but I'm afraid to say I'm not so excited anymore :(

Out of the about 10 times I've visited in the last several days(mostly just lurk) each time I've encountered problems and errors. A few times the site was completely broke with nothing but sql errors and text. A couple other times I couldn't get on because of another error indicating too many users or something (not just the forum but the main gallery.menalto.com page!

Right now I'm typing over the text in the right area and just guessing what I'm typing because the css is all messed up. I'm at work now and the css is messed up at my house more than 1/2 the time as well.

I was considering designing my own site in Drupal but not now. I've been visiting here for over 2 years and with old site and the old board I never had any problems. Seems like with this new site there are many bugs... to the point that 1/2 the time I've come here I haven't been able to even see the main page.

While I know all new things often times come with bugs, it just seems to me like the old site was considerably more reliable. And, I'm glad they made the switch to this because now I know to use something different ;) LOL!

Anyway, not trying to rag on the site or anything... just commenting how I like the old site better because it "worked" :D

You think I should really need to swap browsers just to be able to view one website? Probably not :)

Also, it took me most the morning until I could finally log in. If I used an incorrect password I'd get a "sorry, wrong password" but if I used my correct password I'd get a DNS error page??? Hmph. Maybe I'm just having bad luck or something :D

use firefox, IE bites, and you can see this by visiting my site with both browsers.
My site is www.gecko13.com.
It is almost like Microsoft gave up on IE for some reason. It is still unsecure and can't prevent popups like firefox can, still.
Unless Microsoft steps up to the plate then I fear there will be a huge division in the Internet with the "WAR OF THE BROWSERS!!!" (hehe) anyway how can you be so keen about things opensource and not use Firefox?..... hmmm....

Oh and thanks for creating the thread so I could say something that needed to be said for some time.
Microsoft needs to get thier browser up to spec with W3C and CSS2+ :-).

Well, I've always been going to load Firefox and try it out but just haven't done so yet. Besides, the vast majority of people on the web still use IE so until that changes, I'm still building my sites to work not only in Firefox but also IE :D So, while many think IE sucks, it is still what is used most and saying "just use Firefox" isn't an acceptable solution in many cases :)

I will add though that as since I came here about 5 minutes ago, I haven't seen a CSS error and this particular text box (where I'm typing now) is working properly where as it wasn't the other day. Might have been a bug that has been fixed or today I'm just "luckier" :D

we switched web servers and the CMS a week ago and had several issues, including a slashdotting etc. we're still fighting with some issues and have a huge list of things that need to improved. stay tuned.

Excellent! I do notice it getting better. I'm not all that familiar with Drupal and at first thought it was Drupal which was causing all the problems but hopefully it's just setup issues :)

But, just so you are aware, there are still CSS issues. As I type this right now there is no right hand menu. because it is at the top of the page. This, for some reason, is trying to overlay the side menu by about an inch (on my screen) and therefore was pushed under it. What might be causing this is in the "new forum topics" box it isn't forcing a line wrap so one of those lines is VERY long which makes that box pretty wide.
