Remote upgrades are covered in the <!-- BBCode Start --><A HREF="http://gallery.menalto.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=phpWiki&file=index&pagename=Upgrading" TARGET="_blank">user guide</A><!-- BBCode End -->.

By the way, it is straight forward upgrade ...
CHMOD .htaccess and config.php to 777
then execute upgrade_album.php via your browser.
ex.
http://www.webnameid.com/gallery/upgrade_album.php
this will correct all links update and version.. re-run setup to double check your settings.
And lastly don't forget to chmod .htaccess and config.php for security.

You don't even need to run upgrade_album.php when moving from 1.2.5 to 1.3.1; we didn't changed the album data version between those two versions of the code.

bharat,
thanks for the correction.
I based this approach, when I moved the gallery 1.3.1 into another hosting (a client of mine). Did the step by step approach in to restore gallery but the program didn't recognize my previous data of gallery. Running upgrade_album.php was able to restablish all gallery without any missing link...
Just base on experience ...
Cheers,

I wasn't trying to imply that it was bad advice. Sorry if I gave that impression  Thanks for all the help you provide in the forums, TheWatcher!

Uploading the files now. For some reason my server seems to be slow today. Oh well, I'm sure it will work out. I just wanted to thank you guys.
I was just a little confused about coming across the one method of upgrading, I wasn't sure. I'm a little new to linux and am trying to learn as rapidly as possible (installed Red Hat on my home machine to help me learn).
Thanks again!

If you are using Red Hat 7.2, I highly recommend that you install Bastille Linux to secure your system. Support for 7.3 still in beta.
I applied Bastille Linux in all hosting server I have... for security, port scan detection and monitoring malicious access
Keep in touch.
