Gallery + Mambo; Thumbnail -> Full size new window

I have seen similar discussions before.

1. I was curious if it was possible to go from thumbnail straight to full image. There seems to be flag full=1

2. Can the full image be brought up in a new window using mambo? It appears the fix given on the boards does not work well when the gallery is embedded in mambo.
