Adding javascript to image

in photo.tpl how can i add a javascript to the image tag
{g->image id="%ID%" item=$theme.item image=$image fallback=$smarty.capture.fallback class="%CLASS%"}

i want to add a "OnClick" javascript to this image, how can i do that ?
