Hi,
I have installed the latest G2 RC1 build and set the G2 default language to G2. I've also installed mambo 4.5.2.3 on the same server (http://wirsindblank.dsthome.de).
Everything is fine in mambo or in G2 standalone. But as soon as I click in the menu on 'Bilder', the system correctly shows (via the com_gallery2 Version 2.0.6) the pictures of G2, BUT all the German Umlaut-Characters like öäüß are disappearing on the whole page. Mambo is set to de_DE.
Locale - Output see below. I followed the FAQ.
Any idea?
Thanks, Charlie

you have to change the charset / encoding type in mambo to UTF-8.

Hi,
I've seen different posts where I should change mambo to work in UTF-8 encoding.
Should I change it in the language file - or in the template file?
Thanks

i have no clue about mambo, but i had the impression (from reading forum discussions), that there is a mambo setting to change this, somewhere in mambo. i don't think you have to change files.

Hi,
i've testet changing the characterset for mambo in the language and the template file, with no results.
Then i tried using the html code, for example & instead of ü and the umlaut characters where always shown correct.
So i changed all my modul names and links and now it is no problem using gallery2 with utf8 and mambo with iso-8859-1, it works fine.

Hi Michiel,
the link above (dev.4theweb) is not working. Can you tell me how to get the fix?
