solution to gallery not found at this address and prefs ques

I was having trouble with any of the new gallery remotes (1.0 plus) it would always say no gallery found at this address.. i had the gallery_remote2.php or whatever, and had a fresh cvs update, and it still wouldnt work.. i reinstalled gallery 1.33 or whatever the newest package was.. and its working fine now.. i had played with permissions and all sorts and done cvd updates (i normally run the cvs code) but it wouldnt work.. a fresh install and all was working.. so try that if you have issues.

anyways.. the problem i have currently is i would like gallery remote to resize the pictures before uploading (workstation has oodles of spare cpu) and the server sometimes doesnt.
i have it set to resize pics, and this is working, however it doesnt upload the original files also, if i upload normally (non gallery remote) i get three sizes, the thumbnail, the resize, and the original.. i would like it to stay this way.. but using the remote resize i only get the thumbnail and the resize.. i didnt see an option in the user prefs.
