Backup approach...?

I am running Gallery on Debian and have a backup system on a WindowsXP box. Does anyone see an issue with Retrospect (on the XP machine) copying the Gallery dir via samba? This is probably a very basic question, but I am relatively new to Linux and didn't know if there were considerations that I needed to be aware of when doing this (file permissions not coming over, etc). I use to just tar up the gallery dir and then save it on another partition on the Debian machine. Thanks! |
