Well i dont take it personally that nobody answers my questions, that would be silly no? I find that when nobody answers it's usually for one of two reasons...1) the answer is so simple that it's obvious or 2) the question was poorly formed. The admin feature you talked about worked and was what I was looking for. I knew it was there, but I didn't realize that it formatted ALL text, not just user-posted items, which I disabled on my site. The instructions need to be clarified a bit

I installed Gallery 2.1.1 a couple of days ago and just installed PGTheme but I've been having a couple of problems I can't figure out. My setup is as follows:

Gallery version = 2.1.1
PHP version = 4.4.2
Webserver = IIS 5
Database = MySQL 5.0
Theme = PGtheme,

I installed the PGtheme_V1.1RC1_Full_G2.1.zip install file, installed and activated the theme with no problems. However, when I go the PGTheme tab to configure the theme I get the following errors:
------------------------------------------------------------------
Notice: Undefined index: type in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\photo_beta\modules\core\AdminThemes.inc on line 505

Notice: Undefined index: type in C:\path_to_templates\smarty\templates_c\%%1330757311\%%88^88E^88E1D073%%AdminThemes.tpl.php on line 325

Notice: Undefined index: type in C:\path_to_templates\smarty\templates_c\%%1330757311\%%88^88E^88E1D073%%AdminThemes.tpl.php on line 349

Also, when I go to the main gallery I get the following errors:
------------------------------------------------------------------
Notice: Undefined index: AdminThemes in C:\path_to_templates\smarty\templates_c\%%1330757311\%%65^651^65194A98%%admin.tpl.php on line 4

I couldn't find any references to these errors on any other post, so I apologize in advance if this is a duplicate question. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks so much.

when you installed everything did you unzip before uploading? Perhaps some files did not get there, particularly the theme...just guessing though. I like unzipping on the server directly -

That windows server may be part of the issue as well.

Thanks for the quick response. I am using my local computer as the web server, so I unzipped directly to the referenced directories.

Is it possible to have the same picture in two different albums ?
I know that I just can upload the picture two times, but what I mean
is that if you make a comment or rate the picture, then it will be
visible no matter in what album you look at then picture ?

Spookie, not as you possibly like to have it. You can either upload the same image to two locations (albums) or create links to an existing item but as far as I know these will become separate database-items with no link between them.
But thats not a PGtheme issue, you should post your question in another (probably more appropriate) forum ;)

All the other themes work properly, no errors occurring. It's only the PGTheme that is causing these errors.

Yeah, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the PGTheme a couple of times, but the same issue occurs each time. Are there any other software requisites I'm missing? For example, having PHP 5 vs PHP 4 installed? It seems odd that undefined indexes (eg. type, AdminTheme, etc) would be caused by this though...

I've installed Gallery 2.1 (no problems) and the newest version of PG (1.1). The new problem is with item descriptions displaying correctly. The descriptions display in the right location (with the right words) but the column is thin (you have to scroll down several times to read it) and so the column is long and uncomfortable to read. This only affects items added after the update. I don't know why, but items that had descriptions prior to the update continue to display correctly--with much wider columns for the description.

I have the title displaying "left above thumbnails"; descriptions displaying on "left above thumbnails"; information showing "right above thumbnails"; and microthumbs displaying in "just 1 row on bottom of image." I have changed this around, reloaded pages, and changed it back--didn't help.

I can't figure where the problem is--especially since it only affects new items that have been added and not those added prior to. Unusual?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you've read this of course?
http://codex.gallery2.org/index.php/Gallery2:Installation_on_Windows_Server_2003_and_IIS6

read this: http://gallery.menalto.com/node/39826 --- and...
Try doing some more searches for other threads about Windows IIS and MySQL 5 problems...in Installation and Configuration
AND...you should take this discussion out of the PGtheme forum I think since it may not be related..? Or didn't you say all other themes work fine??

tempg-
try running Admin Options > Maintenance
see if you can clean anything up that way, also check AO > Performance
(i'm just guessing clearly)

IF all other themes work...then I don't know if changing phpversion is the big IT/problem
I don't know much about the debugging mod that is part of G2....so trying a new search or starting a thread on that topic might be fruitful.
Since it seems to be PGtheme - What if you tried removing the mod changes created by PGtheme first, and then replacing other files in the theme individually trying to isolate the problem that way?

I've got a quick question, its probably a easy one, but oh well.

Anyways, I am using the pg theme, and I love it, thanks a lot.

I am wondering if I can set it up so that admins have the ability to right click.

Or if there is another way that I can get the link to the photo so that I am able to hot link my photos when I please, but others are not.

Thanks for anyhelp,

this is my gallery right now: http://www.mdgphoto.com/gallery

Which mod changes are you referring to? I tried simply installing the bare theme without the color pack, slide show, or the frames, but the same issues occurred.

ISSUE 2: Anyone know where the fade in is controlled? My photographs still fade in but they no longer show the "loading" animation. I think I may have created this problem (while trying to correct Issue 1) but I'm not sure what template may be the source of the problem.

I reverted back to PHP 4.4.2 with ISAPI instead of the FastCGI module and doing so fixed all of the PGTheme issues I was having. For some reason, FastCGI with PHP 4.4.2 would stop my web server every time I'd try to access the PGTheme configuration screen. The ISAPI module works great with it. Has anyone else come across any of these issues? They're kind of random...

Hi there,
Perhaps this is very simple for many of you. I searched the forum and found no answer. Does anyone know where in the PG theme should I modify to add more item on the top menu?

Hi there, I need to use two different link color for my breadcrumb since I changed the background color to something dark and it's no longer legible. I am using the charcoal colorpack and I defined new css style in color.css:

#mylinks a { color: #ccc !important; }
#mylinks a:hover { color: #fff !important; }
#mylinks a:active { color: #ddd !important; }

The problem is I don't know where to implement the style so that the breacrumb uses this new style and not the general link colors. Do I make this change in theme.tpl?

I would also like to know if it's possible to reduce the space between rows of thumbnails on the first page? For some reason there is a lot of space between those rows, while on my other album pages it's fine. Thanks!

Tempg :- for Issue 2 here , the fade in is controlled in the Edit Album/ Theme
scroll down to the bottom of the Photo section and check or uncheck the box beside "fade in"

Bananabear:-
Go into the Edit album / Theme and right at the top of the settings are "Rows per album page" and "Columns per album page"

So you could get 20 images per page by wither 2 x 10, or 4 x 5
or 2 x 6 with a space in the last row. :)

And now my question :)

I have set for the author's welcome message to show in the top setting of Albums section in edit Album/ Theme/

It does show when I am logged in, but not otherwise. I cannot see anyewhere to change that setting.
And there is little point in a welcome message that only welcomes myself :)

budguinn (and someone else later wanting to activate right click for admin only):-

I do this by changing to a different theme, capturing the Url references I need, then changing the album back to the PG theme. Of course I have PG as my defaut theme so my personal settings are kept in the default.

Triangular,

I am not sure that anyone solved your problem about the password protected albums.
The problem could be in the permissions you have set for them.
You have to give the users permission to "View item" as well as "view all versions"

I am posting a thread from the general discussion forum regarding how to make the album and subalbum titles linkable. The code was for Matrix theme and didn't work on PGthem when I changed it. Does anyone know how this might be modified to make the album titles linkable? Thanks

Hey pgilbert! GREAT THEME! I love it.

I had a couple of questions though, and hopefully, you, (or anyone in the know) can assist me?

1) What must I do to code in a header graphic / logo. I have the image I want. I'm pretty new to this stuff so if you can explain what code or process I need to put in, and where it goes, I would be VERY grateful!

2) Some of the linky-dealies are flickering for me when I mouseover on them (with broken image box type things under them). Then after a few seconds, they stop and get a yellow line. Such things that do this are "home" (upper left corner) "Full Screen" (upper right corner) and the "Full Size Image Popup" and "Show EXIF" links under the actual photo.

Any assistance on one or both of these issues would be amazing, since I don't want to use any theme but yours now. :)

also I want those great icons, but unless I'm missing a toggle somewhere, they aren't showing up. (Slide, Thumb, Gallery, etc..)
(update) In Firefox, I get a blue text link for these things, but it flickers and TRIES to show an image (broken) when I mouseover. In IE, I get no text link and just broken image boxes. Hope this helps. I really just want those cool vector icons you made to show up. No text, necessarily.
Thank you!

Hi
This last bit sounds as if you have it set for the icons to only show on mouseover.

Have a look through the Edit Album / Theme settings.
There is a lot in there and it takes a while to get used to, but I know I saw that feature somewhere in there.

hmmm, sounds more like not finding the colorpack expected (containing these icons) at the correct location. Look at the link properties to see where the images are looked for.

bspot,
2.) see above - a link to your site would be a good practice to ease people helping you ;)
1.) the two logo-GIF's are in the PGtheme\images folder or - if you use colorpacks from Pedro (PG*...) in the respective image folder of the colorpack (logo.gif and logoon.gif). Simply exchange these with your own. (again - if your not sure look at the current logo-porperties to see where you're loading it from...)

and - I know its a pain - but try to read this thread a bit into 'the past' - these questions pop up frequently ;)

thank you all. I got impatient ;) last night and did some more digging. I had to throw the /images/set1 etc... folder in colorpack/black/ for them to show up. Once they did, i was good to go.

My gallery seems to be running fairly slow. I even put it on full-acceleration. I don't know if it's the theme (other themes are slow) the Gallery software, or my host. Very odd.

Thanks all for your replies. :)

eep. I actually DO have one more question. (for now)

in the PGtheme, when I get all the way into a phot by clicking on it, it has that cool little loading "circle" animation. But it goes around twice, stops, and then no photo ever loads.
Anyone know what gives with that?

I did read the thread but I didn't see that referenced. (at least not in laymen's terms.) :)

the url is www.bolsheviktion.com/gallery

Hi PGthemer's!

as Pedro seems to be rather quiet at the moment and as he changed his live website from Gallery2 to another gallery software, I allowed myself to update a few files and increase the version number to 1.1.1 (for Gallery 2.2).
This update is only usefull if you've updated your Gallery to the latest Nightly or SVN - it will check the ThemeAPI version!!! This allows to use the new keyalbum and rating albums feature the way they were designed with PGtheme, too

You'll find the necessary files here: http://gallery.menalto.com/node/52509

Have fun!

Hi. I just did a clean re install of all of gallery. I've installed the latest 2.1.1 build. I've downloaded the latest zip file of the PG theme. I uploaded the zip file to the website and unziped it there. Everything is going according to plan at this point. But when I go to install the PG Theme I can see it as a theme to install on the gallery admin page, but I cannot install it. I get the following error:

I installed PG theme with a recent Gallery install. It all looks good and I am excited to set it up. However, the full size images are not showing. The thumbs are fine, but the page with full-sized images are blank. I have other galleries on this install that show the full images just fine. I've looked in the image data directory that I set and the images appear to be there on the server.

Have a look: http://look.gvsu.edu/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=111

Any suggestions. This is a great theme that makes gallery2 look as good as it works.

I got a strange problem here:
I'd like to show the shopping cart buttons for guests, but it doesn't seem to work. I see none of them.
I only have the cart module installed and activated. Everyone has the right to add stuff to the cart.
Any ideas how to fix this?

Has anyone figured this one out? I'm having the exact same problem. If I change themes, the shopping cart icon appears. I have an add to cart option in my item drop down list, but I definitely need the icon, as well. Can someone please help!

thanks!

Does anyone know which module(s) or parts of modules control the "loading"/fade-in animation? I've deactivated it somehow but I don't know where. The issue is not in the admin panel; it involves some chanage made accidentally in one or more modules but I don't know which module to look at. THANKS!

ISSUE 2: Anyone know where the fade in is controlled? My photographs still fade in but they no longer show the "loading" animation. I think I may have created this problem (while trying to correct Issue 1) but I'm not sure what template may be the source of the problem.

------------

ISSUE 1: I've installed Gallery 2.1 (no problems) and the newest version of PG (1.1).

Unusual?

I've tried performance and maintenence under admin options; neither helps.

Both these last two are set in Edit Album/ theme tab
Scroll down the long form and look carefrully at each thing as you pass.

I could find them for you, eg the cart is probably in more than one place and the "fade in" is definitely in the Photo section, but it helps you to get to know the way things work if you study it.

There are some things to be careful of when changing things in there. eg If you set it to go straight to full size image, you have to also set a box about teo lower that puts a "getout " button for admins.
Otherwise! you are in trouble.
The other thing I have annoyed myself with is my main gallery has two family-trees from it, the second being differently set. If I change the settings in the main gallery album, and click the "do same in descendants" box, it changes ALL descendants, and I have to go into the top album of the second family-tree and change them all back to their settings.

but I do love the theme.

I love this elegant theme. Thanks, Pedro!

Has anyone figured the solution to Draculas problem with Firefox on a Mac?

(...) but with firefox there is a problem ( only on the mac ! )
When viewing an image, it just shows the "loading image" but no image is loaded.
occasionally some images load. The same hapens if you select one of the images from the left side where the small thumbs are but like I mentioned, only on firefox on a mac.
strange.
anybody else with a mac here that could take a look ?

When I hit refresh it will fade in the image ( but not always )

I'm having the same problem. The pages work fine in all browsers I have tested on both PCs and Macs, exept in Firefox on the Mac. It seems Dracula has not found the solution, 'cause his gallery still has these problems.
I'd be grateful if anyone has a fix!

I've been trying to install PG Theme. I have the latest and greatest of both Gallery 2 and PG Theme.

I unzip the files on a local PC and then upload them to my server. The files are being put in the correct location. The PG Theme is installed and when I activate it and set it as the default theme, the theme works for the Site Admin portion, but when I go back to the Gallery itself, it is still using the old default theme. When I deactivate that theme, I get the following error:

Configuration Error: Missing Theme
Missing Theme

This album is configured to use the siriux theme, but it is either inactive, not installed, or incompatible. To fix this problem you can install or activate this theme or select another default theme.

Any clues?

Just had the bright idea of trying other themes. All of them produce the same error... None of them will switch the theme over from the previous one.

Does anyone know how to define a new link color using CSS styles for this theme? I changed the album background color and now using the same link color for everything on the site doesn't work. I need to define a new style for links that I can apply where I need it. I tried defining a new link style in the color.css file of my colorpack (charcoal), but the change doesn't show up on the album page. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks
