pgilbert, rpain, just wanted to reply ... only with the RC1 having no CVS applied and and older PGtheme release... you've updated it and fixed this a few days ago. No issues since.

This is an excellent theme, however I'm having a small issue. I can't get the nice fade-in effect to work. I tried using the full path to the image in theme.css for .gsSingleImage and still nothing.

Any tips?

Thanks,

DS.

pgilbert, I've noticed a little bug - if you have nested folders and the photo.tpl displays the navigation icons for the album and the two root albums besides the gallery home, it highlights always the leftmost root album - even pointing the mouse where the arrow indicates.
Don't know if this is theme behaviour or gallery itsself.

drstrange, can you check the full url for typo - espically the case could be important ... Loading.gif is not the same as loading.gif or the upper/lowercase of your path' (would be my starting point).

It seems like some of my theme parameters are broken. I'm using RC1, and 0.10.4 of PGTheme. Opacity, columns, some parameters are obeyed. But all of my Show/Hide parameters stopped working. Can't get them to change globally or per-album. It's showing everything (title, description, owner, views, item actions, etc), when I really don't want it to show anything.

Any ideas? This has got to be user-error, right? I believe it was working earlier today, but now it's not. What am I missing?

Thanks,
Eric

LFrank

I doublechecked the url. Actually I tested it to make sure the .gif is visible when the url's put in the browser and it loads fine. So I'm pretty sure it's not a path problem. Is there any other setup required other than selecting the checkbox for Fade-In images in the theme?

Thanks,

DS.

pgilbert, great !! Thanks a lot - for (for my opinion) the best theme around :)

Have you had a chance to see my different thread (http://gallery.menalto.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=34206)? Do you see a possibility - I'm stuck with my limited knowledge on Java and CSS.

I would love to try this theme, but when I upload it (into the gallery2 directory AND the themes directory) it doesn't show up in the All Themes page to install it. I downloaded this from this page, http://www.pedrogilberto.net/gallery2/theme.html so is this the most current build? Any thoughts on why it isn't showing up? I'm using the latest gallery2 build...

Thanks for any help you can provide!

XtremeCamera, where did you put the files - the archive should be the correct one (0.10.4B4). According to Pedro's structure of the archive supplied, it should be ALL extracted into your Gallery2 directory.

The structure how these files fit into the gallery structure looks like
-- GALLERY2
---- modules
------ colorpack
------ imageframe
------ slideshow
---- themes
------ PGtheme
-------- images
-------- locale
-------- po
-------- templates

I would suggest to check the structure of your directories

Thanks, yes this is the structure I have, the PGtheme is in the gallery2 main directory. I also tried putting it in the themes directory just to try it... I've quit the browser a few times, emptied the cache, all to no avail... it just won't show up to be installed on the All Themes page. Everything else about this incredible photo script works great....

Thanks for the top navigation fix, it works.

However, now my micro thumbs won't display... and I still have the issue of being unable to control whether certain information is displayed or not. I can't hide photo titles, item actions, etc.

I might have not have all the modules working... I got the theme to work by manually FTP-ing the components into the proper diretories, then installing it went fine..I have even been able to customize it a bit (still learning) but the MICRO thumbs aren't working. I went to the Admin page, rebuilt all the thumbs, still nothing..uploaded some new images, still no micro-thumbs... I have a single album with 45 images in that album... any suggestions?

I have made some changes to other .tpl files that I thought would be unrelated, but maybe not. Two questions:

1) Are .tpl files cached in any way? Sometimes I'll make a change to a "local" file and the changes won't always take effect instantly. Other times, if I update your theme with new files, sometimes they won't take effect until I actually go and make a change to the file and save it. Hard to explain.

2) Do you have any more major features planned for this theme? If not, I can just hard code some display options into local files and not worry about figuring out my problem. :)

Excellent theme, by the way. I like it a lot.

By the way --

I had micro-thumbs working perfectly up until this last build 4 update... they disappeared right when I updated (although now the top-navigation option works great).

If Xtreme has the same issues, maybe it's something with the latest build? Not trying to be accusational, just a thought. Wasn't sure what all changed in build 4. :)

Come on guys, isn't anyone else having problems getting the microthumbs working? I am on a dedicated linux server running apache 1.3, php, mySQL, imagemagick, GD, etc etc etc... everything is working fine except for the microthumbs (which I really like)... does anyone have a clue? (I reinstalled it 3 times, using the uzip command... still no micros)

@ Ericular: yes template files are cached, you should use the "delete template cache" in the site admin -> maintenance, whenever you make changes.

Thanks Pedro Gilberto for your hard work on this theme. Where should I send the check? :)

I hear you... I went through the same thing yesterday....

Delete all the PGtheme items on your server... then download the most recent build Build5. Upload the ZIP file to your gallery2 directory on your server. Using your Terminal app (its called Terminal on my Mac, yours may differ)... run the CD command to the gallery2 directory. For me, it was

cd /home/www/xtremecamera1/gallery2

then run the unzip command, which for me was,

unzip PGtheme_V0.10.4B5.zip

THEN

Go to your site admin page, http://yourdomain.com/gallery2/main.php, Login in as Admin, click Site Admin....

Click on Modules

Click the tab that says "All Themes"

Click on "Install PGtheme"

Then Click on "activate"

THEN go to the "defaults" tab

Use the drop down menu to choose "PGtheme" (makes PGtheme the default)

Click SAVE

Now go to the Site Admin page again, click on "themes"....
Choose the PGtheme TAB.... then set all the preferences you want...

That should do it for you.... so far I've tested this on a Mac, Windows, and UNIX....works fine...

Got to love this theme man, gotta love it...

Klondike, that's just a catch all, if say any elements of the PGtheme folder got partially installed or anything... Probably not, so just deleting the folder you uploaded should do it...

I amd still stuck and cannot install.... and have tried the following several times

1 deleted the folder PGthemes..
2. validated it was gone themes menu
3. performed all database maintenance (just in case)
4. reinstalled (unzip into gallery2 folder)
5. sysadmin login
6. go to themes option, I see the PGthemes.. however

And I do not get an ACTIVATE option only an INSTALL. And when I click the install, I get page not found with this error. I have tried on firfox, safari, IE and computers attached to my network and remote as well. Please help......

I'm still not able to get the backround image to display and do the fade for the photos. I've set the url in .gsSingleImage and made sure that it works in my browser. Also made sure that the option is checked in the theme settings

I have G2 RC1 and the latest build installed of the mod.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Pedro,

Great theme, and still getter better every day.

I noticed on your site you have a guestbook that has the same look-and-feel as your gallery. I am looking for something like that for a while. Did you make that yourself? Would you consider making this publicly available?

Great theme PG!!!

Does anyone know how, or if, you can skip the thumbnail page.

On my main page I'll have a bunch of albums, but I want the user to choose an album and go right to the first picture in the album large with the small thumbs on the left.

Basicly, skippng the thumbnail page.

any help is appresiated

thanks

Pedro,

Also in ADMIN under MicroThumbs - Width for Micro Thumbs if you the value to anything higher than 52 the screen shakes if you move your mouse over the thumbs.

52 is the safe setting no shakes. 53 and higher if you move the mouse over along the thumbs the webpage shakes. Any idea or maybe a possible fix for this?

cow736,

I believe this has more to do with the browser window size, and number of microthumb columns. I also believe that I tried it in Firefox and it wasn't a problem.

I think it's just an issue with how IE redraws the table or something when the larger image is shown on mouseover? Just a guess, but I've encountered the same problem.

Pedro,

Is there an easy way to make the microthumbs simply change opacity on mouseover, rather than also having them become slightly bigger? This would be similar to how the album thumbnails are displayed on album pages. Opacity change, but no size change. The size change effect is great if everything fits on the screen, but it would be nice to have an option (or just clue me in to what file to hack) so it could be disabled if needed.

This would likely take care of this issue.

Thanks,
Eric

Ericular,
you might change the variable over in navigatorThumbs.tpl
{assign var="over" value=4}
to zero "0"

That will remove the growth-effect

LFrank,

Thanks for the tip... worked beautifully.

Pedro,

Just an FYI, the theme appears to have a slight problem with Internet Explorer 7 Beta, at least on my XP SP2 computer. The "Loading..." GIF comes up, and you can tell it's loading the photo in the background, but when the image has loaded, the "Loading..." GIF still remains indefinately. The photo never shows up. Works fine on the same computer with Firefox though, and on other computers with IE6, obviously.

Thanks for the great theme!

Hi Pedro-
I'm moving loading of peer data from loadCommonTemplateData into a callback, so your theme will need some small changes.
Remove 'peers' and 'peerThumbnails' in the lists passed to loadCommonTemplateData.
In navigatorThumbs.tpl before you start working with peers do this:
{g->callback type="core.LoadPeers" windowSize=$theme.params.peerWindowSize loadThumbnails=true}
(if you have set $params['peerWindowSize']... put whatever value there you like..)
then:
{assign var="data" value=$block.core.LoadPeers}
now replace $theme.peers with $data.peers
I think that should do it.

Hello.

I have set Gallery2 on multisite, with 2 sites: mine and my brothers. The question is: how to use Pedro's theme on both sites, without interfering one with eachother. Right now the theme is installed in the codebase of gallery, so if I change let's say author.tpl (for my apresentation) this will appear also on my brother's site.

I've tried to create a second directory PGTheme II in themes and copied the content of pedro's theme but no help (it won't appear on site admin as a new theme). What to do in order to function?

Another try i've made (but I'm noob into php) was to use the same footer me and my brother and tryed to create a second author apresentation. I've modified theme.inc and added a new checkbox for second author .. but that was all I managed to do. Don't know what to insert into author.tpl to make this work.

Any help is apreciated.

I believe that's not possible at the moment. What you'd need to do is create a new theme for your brother. You can do this by cloning the PG theme to a different name. See this page for info on cloning a theme and what to change:
http://codex.gallery2.org/index.php/Gallery2:Themes

or what for mindless to give a pointer on what you need to do to finish your other attempt.
