Can only log in once...

Hello all. I'm a longtime Gallery 1 user and decided to give Gallery 2 a shot. It looks impressive, but all I can do is look at it, unfortunetly. See, I ran though the setup and got everything apparently installed. I was able to login and all, but didn't do much. I walk away for a while, then come back and I can't login! It acts like I am(gives me errors when I enter wrong names) but it only brings me back to the main index when I type in the correct name, NOT logged in.

I ran back though the setup, and the same deal. It worked then, but when I logged out I couldn't get back on. I managed to upload a file and all just fine. Please help!

this can have two issues:
1. you are trying to login with a non-admin user and he doesn't have the permission to view the top album
2. it's a cookie win 2000 / iis 4 issue.

@1.
try to login with the admin user
@2.
delete your cookies in the browser (you only have to delete those with the name "GALLERYSID".
if can login after deleting the cookies and then when you logout and try to login again you have the same problem again, 2. is very probable. we tried to find a solution that works on all supported platforms. win 2000 / iis 4 was not tested and is not supported.

I AM using the admin... But it won't work either way. Besides, I shouldn't get login up in the corner still AFTER I log in, right?

I'll try to cookie deal, but if it's that much of a pain, I might try another gallery. Sorry... I still use G1 on my other site ^^;

you're the first to report this issue, probably you are also the first to report a g2 running on win 2k / iis 4.
if you don't check if cookies are the problem etc., we are unable to help you or modify g2 such that it works with iis4 / win 2k.

It's ok. It might be a problem with my server. I tried coppermine and I'm getting errors there. I also can't upload pics for some reason. However, I can upload using the phpBB2's upload mod. Strange...

I'm rather new to PHP and all. I had a server setup before, but the mobo died so I had to start from scratch. I tried 2003(IIS6) but didn't have much luck there either. I think it would of worked, but I'm still learning how to do all this...

i'd just not use iis and go for apache like 99% of our user base. setting up iis is more difficult than setting up a apache webserver.
