Updating from Flippin Sweet to Bingo

I want to update from Flippin Sweet to Bingo version. Where do I put the "local" folder with the current theme.tpl files? Do I place it in the same directory as the original files or up one level? Also will I need to reconfigure G2 after updating the scripts? Thanks again for you help! |

Yup, no need to change - keep updating the CVS and it will soon load the final b4 - at least after what I read in the latest status mails tonight seems to be "the" night ;)

I'm not familiar with CVS is there a web tutorial or thread I can use to get me up to speed?

I'm using TurtleCVS (http://tortoisecvs.sourceforge.net/) to get the updates using its Explorer extensions - they, aswell as WinCVS (http://www.wincvs.org/) have some detailed documents how the CVS thing works, if that's what you're interested in.

Also, if you haven't been using G2 since the theme changes, any theme you had in B3 won't work. Please note B3 was only one release, if you've updated from nightlies recently (within the last week or so) you don't have B3 and you do have the new theme changes. The link you provided isn't to your G2 install and I can't find that from your site.
Maybe you could post the actual G2 version you're upgrading from: Site Admin > Maintenance > System Information will tell you what the exact version of Gallery you have installed and we can better answer your questions then ;).

Wait a second. I read your post completely wrong. You want to go backwards? Sorry you can't do that. Your g2data and database from B4 are incompatible with B3, you can only go forwards, there is no going back unless you've backed up your data from when you had B3. But B4 can't go back to B3.

Yeah, I skipped over all that the first time around and was mostly just adding the info about that CVS thread. But thought I'd chime in on what I thought I read in the first post.... ;)
I've really got to stop doing that.... ;)
