Don't know if anyone else have asked this question but: Will it be possible to easily upgrade to the new version 2 from 1.x ?? I mean will there be a kind of converter that reads out all the infos, comments, permission etc. from the DAT files into mySQL? |

Yes. Definitely. (Though it still has to be written... :wink
It would be a pretty poor move to, overnight, decide to alienate 98% of Gallery users! :grin:
That said, you'll probably need to re-customize the look and feel of your gallery from scratch. Once G2 is released, I imagine lots of people will be building themes of various sorts. While all the data, comments, etc. will be carried over (probably permissions as well, though G2's permissions are more flexible/complex), many of the look-and-feel settings will need to be adjusted again. (This is just my guess.)
