troubles with synchronization between Mambo and G2

I'm having troubles with user synchronization between Mambo and Gallery2. The first user I signed in with synchronized ok, but none after that have worked. I tried using the Mambo component to force the synchronization, but it doesn't modify anything on the gallery2 side, even though the component says it does.

I'm running Mambo 4.5.2.1 with the latest build of gallery2 (don't know version number off the top of my head).

The only thing I can guess so far is that it has something to do with my Mambo and gallery installations using different databases. Am I way off base with that? Most likely it's something simple and stupid I'm overlooking. Can anyone straighten me out?

Thanks so much.

kcasarez,

i have moved your post out of the documantion topic and into it's own topic

to answer your question, db shouldn't be a problem a different domain name will of even a different sub-domain.

could you give me the sync msg that is displayed on top of the page after you pushes sync button and you config settings make sure you have user mirroring on!

Regards,
Michiel

Thanks Michiel, post in the other thread was accidentally misplaced.

A screenshot of the issue can be seen here: http://kcasarez.homeip.net/g2_user_sync_error.jpg

Shows the Updated and New user numbers, but the users still show as not being in G2.

kcasarez,

have you hacked the core in any way, looks like a group hack to me by the looks of it.

Can you tell me what fields you have in you mos_users table?

Well, I had done a Peer Groups hack a while back that I forgot about. Let me see if I can undo that, and I'll see if it works. If not, I'll repost here.

OK, I had done the peer groups hack on an old version, I guess I never changed the DB back. Anyway, it's now the standard 4.5.2.3 install with a normal DB, but I get the same messages. It still acts as though it's updating the gallery2 database, but no updates are done.

BTW, you may have noticed that I installed the latest release for the component this morning. That didn't make a difference either.

I appreciate you taking your time to look over this for me.

Well, after the g2 upgrade failed and corrupted my installation, I completely removed gallery2, reinstalled it, uninstalled and reinstalled the component, and now my user synchronization is working.

Thanks for your help.
