Hello,

I've installed G2 today, and I'm getting crazy with custom fields.
It seems isn't so hard to set new custom fields for a photo or for an album, but I can't see any of the new fields I created.
Someone can explain how to make them to work?
It's possible to hide in details "Orientation", "X Resolution", "Compression"

Regards

I'm not sure where custom fields are displayed other than when you go to edit the item. I haven't quite been able to figure custom fields out other than being able to search against them.

As for "Orientation", "X Resolution", "Compression", are you talking about the EXIF info? If so, go to Site Admin > EXIF/IPTC and choose everything you want to display.

So did I undertand wrong?
I though I could have some fields "Custom" as I need around the photo, on the bottom as default I think.
If isn't like that, what kind of staff are these Custom Fields

custom fields work.

you have to add the block to the visible block list in site admin -> themes -> matrix. add it to the photo and or album pages.

Doh! It's a block. It needs to be added to your theme. Site Admin > Themes > Matrix > add the custom fields block to album and/or photo pages.

I'm still getting use to the changes in the new theme system.

EDIT: just seconds, that's all you beat me by ;)

Well I found two problems with custom fieds

1- Sometimes I can't add anyrhing to the field I created
2- If I delete an existing field, sometimes I get this error

"Error (ERROR_MISSING_OBJECT)
in modules/customfield/classes/CustomFieldHelper.class at line 356 (gallerystatus::error)
in modules/customfield/CustomFieldItemEdit.inc at line 53 (customfieldhelper::handleadminaction)
in modules/core/ItemEdit.inc at line 95 (customfielditemedit::handlerequest)
in main.php at line 173 (itemeditcontroller::handlerequest)
in main.php at line 87
in main.php at line 78"

It would be nice to have the fields formatted with row grey and white like when we add the fields to the Photo

I've added the blocks to the photos/albums sections and they show up there when viewing the photos/albums, BUT they don't show up when I add a new photo via any of the methods. G1 used to show any custom fields you created to be filled in on upload. Am I doing something wrong? Please help!

In a perfect world what I'm hoping for is to use Gallery Remote to upload my images, and it will show the fields that I've added for each image I upload, you know? It currently only shows Caption, Summary & Description.

Gallery version: 2.1.2
Operating System: Linux
Apache Version: 1.3.37 (Unix)
PERL Version: 5.8.7
MySQL Version: 4.1.21-standard
PHP Version: 4.4.4
Graphics Toolkit: ImageMagick (unsure of version)
