Gallery installed but component in Mambo not installing

Hi there. I managed to install Gallery 2 (gallery-2.0-beta-3) without any problems (http://www.palmstead.com/oc_media/gallery2/). When I come to install the Mambo component (com_gallery2-v2.0.5.zip) I can not get past the first screen which errors with:

"FATAL ERROR:You have not configured File Permissions and 644 is used!You made a error in the Full Path to Gallery G2 or you haven\'t installed G2!"

It just cant seem to find my gallery2 installation because even if I put in a blatently wrong full url for the installation it comes up with the same error.

Any help would be much appreciated. Sorry I cant give much data for the questionaire below - but I cant find the "PHP diagnostic"
