maybe that can help, if the config doesn't allow the right settings manualy set it in the database.
trompete,
next version is sef ready, i'm do the best i can to get it working correctly with all the modules at the moment, further it defently needs a document(working on that as wel)

Michiel,
I found your guide very useful, however I still cannot get the System to accept the path to mambo which i now believe should be /cms/
You mention manually entering data into database, as another alternative. Looks like I'll have to go that route. Can you tell me which table(s) within the database I need to alter and what data I should be putting into them in order to get it to work?
Keep up the good work by the way. Impressed by Gallery 2 + Mambo so far.

jawalker,
it should be /CMS/ in your case.
if it doesn't accept, try directly into database.

hi Michiel,
i appreciate the time you've spent supporting the community not only writing components but answering questions about them.
i too am having path issues. i just read through the previous 7 pages of this thread and your path document but i'm still unable to have Mambo recognize the proper Mambo path.
i'm running Mambo 4.5.2 and installed Gallery2-rc2 this morning. this appears to be working nicely. i then installed com_gallery2_v2.0.6.1 and received the following error:
Warning: embed(embed.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/thecloses/public_html/components/com_gallery2/userfuncs.php on line 64
Fatal error: embed(): Failed opening required 'embed.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php') in /home/thecloses/public_html/components/com_gallery2/userfuncs.php on line 64
looking in the components directory on the server i do see the com_gallery2 directory and it does contain the userfuncs.php file. so i'm not sure why i got the error...
and when i go back install/uninstall components in MamboAdmin i see Gallery2 listed, although it doesn't have the author, version, date, etc. listed. and under the components tab Gallery2 exists.
so i clicked on the Gallery2 Config tab and began entering my paths.
full g2: /home/thecloses/public_html/gallery2/
rel g2: ./gallery2/
both those are fine, it's the next one that's buggin'
Path to Mambo: /
it should be / but Mambo doesn't like that for some reason. Mambo is installed directly in my public_html directory.
you mentioned in a couple earlier posts that this could also be edited directly in the database. do you know which table needs to be edited? i've looked through a couple of them but did not see anything that struck me as a place for system configuration.
thanks for your help

Hi,
There is a topic about this on www.4theweb.nl, which explains what to do and there is also a new document with some FAQ, also this one and how you can fix this.

Michiel,
thank you for such a quick reply! i didn't realize you had a forum on your site. thanks again.
I've just discovered gallery2 and am trying to embed it into joomla (1.07) with mostly great results. I really like the pgtheme with the pgsnow colourpack- this is what I'd like to get up and running. The only snag is that when it comes to the "photos" page in any album it spews out a load of text above in the main site area, like this:
I can't work out if the issue is with joomla or with gallery. It doesn't happen with any of other themes (matrix, siriux etc.) so is it just the pgtheme not integrating well?
Any input would be appreciated,
T

I'm having a strange issue. I'm getting the following error only when a member who is logged in, tries to view a thumbnail by clicking on it:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method GalleryPhotoItem::getOrderBy() in /usr/home/ftp/fid/mmckinne/public_html/menalto2/gallery2/modules/core/classes/helpers/GalleryChildEntityHelper_simple.class on line 480
This is Gallery 2 and the com_ version 1.4 from
Also, how do I find out what exact version of Gallery 2 I have installed?
Thanks in advance,
Michael

Hello,
I've been using Gallery for a couple of years, and just started trying to integrating it in to a CMS. I picked Mambo. I see alot of errors regarding paths in previous posts, well, I don't have those. ...or at least the error I'm seeing doesn't mention paths. I get the following error when I enter Components->Gallery2->Config.
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/fotobug/public_html/mambo/components/com_gallery2/userfuncs.php on line 169
and when I go to... Components->Gallery2->Album Management
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/fotobug/public_html/mambo/administrator/components/com_gallery2/admin.gallery2.php on line 486
Can anyone help me with this? If you need any info on my side, what versions, just ask. It's late, my wife is calling me to bed... so, I'll add more info in the morning, if needed.
Thanks in advance...

I tried installing this yesterday in my mambo site, but I am getting an error when I tried to configure the component:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: iserror() in /home/peloruso/public_html/mambo/components/com_gallery2/classes/core.class on line 139
I actually saw the configuration screen once, and filled in the appropriate path names, but then got this error and have not been able to make it go away. I have uninstalled the component and re-installed, but I still get the error message when I click on the Gallery2 "config" link. I am using the latest versions of Mambo and G2 (just downloded them yesterday)

I saw some documentation that suggested changing the "if ($ret->iserror()) {" lines to simply "if ($ret) {". This has eliminated the fatal error message. But now I am getting an "unexpected '}'" error:
Parse error: parse error, unexpected '}' in /home/peloruso/public_html/hrdslr/administrator/components/com_gallery2/adminpages/tools.php on line 303
I'm not sure this is the place to post this enquiry, but here goes:
Will the instructions listed here for bridging Mambo/G2 work for:
Mambo 4.6 (clean install)
Gallery 2.1.2 (clean install)?
Thanks!

I am also interested in integrating the latest Mambo and the latest and greatest Gallery.
Would someone be so kind as to point us newbees in the right direction.
Stuff I'm looking for is:
How to install gallery if an existing mambo install is in place (I understand that paths are important).
What mambo modules or components are needed, and where to get them.
Are tweeks needed for mambo 4.6?
Has anyone done this?
I'm trying to develop a slideshow in Mambo4.5. I have installed Gallery2 successfully (Thanks to all the tutorials given here!). I might just be willing to implement it. My Zend studio's been getting pretty lonely since I switched to Mambo 8). We definitely need CVS though.
