I've installed Mambo 4.5.2

I've upgraded Gallery to 1.5

All looks good apart from the fact that I get no option to login when choosing the gallery option from the Mambo site menu. The gallerys all come up and I can drill down to albums and pics but get no option to log in to the gallery. (this is all inside Mambo)

www.gonsalvesfamily.net

If I use and explicit URL to the gallery sub dir, I get the Gallery page with a login option (Outside of Mambo)

www.gonsalvefamily.net/gallery

So the question is how do I get the login prompt to appear on the Gallery screen chosen via the Mambo menu to allow people to log in to the Gallery software to upload pics.

Cheers

When using Gallery embedded, the CMS (Mambo) controls all logins. Gallery does not show a login prompt because you're already logged in.

If you view the Permissions page in Gallery, you'll see that your Mambo accounts are available to grant permissions to.

An administrator in Mambo is an administrator in Gallery.

This is when I am not logged in as well. There is no login prompt at this stage.

When I log in to Mambo - how do I then go to the Gallery page to upload pictures (or indeed as any user).

I've just created a test user within gallery using the full path to the gallery software www.gonsalvesfamily.net/gallery and logged in there as admin and created a user.

I've then registered the same userid within the CMS. I can log in to the CMS correctly but if I choose Gallery there is no options to upload pics. This is what I need to work correctly.

Thanks for the help so far.

Mambo controls all logins, including guest.

To upload photos you have to login as an administrator, create an album and edit the permissions to allow either "LoggedIn" or a specific username to add items. Then those users will be able to upload to that album.

Thanks.

How do I go about editing the permissions to allow LoggedIn or specific usernames to add items please?

Gallery handles all this via a pull down menu within the album so I kinda figured it would just work as "normal"

When you're logged in as an administrator, all of the normal administrative options are available. "Edit Permissions" should be an available option in the dropdown, or as one of the links next to the album on the root page.

Cool - I've done that now ie included userid for CMS/gallery. The user/s that I have included should be allowed/permitted to upload pics but there is still no drop down :( witihin Gallery or option to upload pics.

:(

However if I log in as the user named admin via the CMS log in as opposed to the Administrator option on the CMS menu and go in to the gallery i do get the options to upload pics etc

So I have just checked the permissions within gallery using this ID and the gallery permissions are not set as opposed to when you log in via the www.gonsalvesfamily.net/gallery option as the admin user and set the perms there.

Anyway I've tested it now using my dummy user and it all looks ok. The trick is to log in to the CMS as admin then go to the gallery and set permissions up that way.

Thanks for you help - I'm well pleased with it now.
