I got the same problem. WIll post here instead of creating another post

I'm installing Gallery2 Beta3 and get stuck with error message at step 8 of the installation. A little assistance would be greatly appreciated. I get the following error message:

file_exists(/home/guero/public_html/adventuredad/gallery2/g2data//cache/entity)

file_exists(/home/guero/public_html/adventuredad/gallery2/g2data//cache/module)

(mysql): SHOW TABLES

file_exists(/home/guero/public_html/adventuredad/gallery2/modules/core/classes/helpers/../../../../modules/core/module.inc)
realpath(/home/guero/public_html/adventuredad/gallery2/modules/core/classes/../../..)
Binding text domain: modules_core ->

Below you will find all relevant info about my server, host etc.:

Host: Hostgator
Gallery URL: www.adventuredad.com/gallery2
Gallery version: Gallery2 Beta3, latest nighly build (June 05)
Apache:1.3.33 (Unix)
PHP:4.3.10
Graphics: Latest version of GD and Imagemagik
Op.system: Linux

I get no errors previous to step 8. I did try to delete everything and do another installation but with the same result.

I just downloaded an older version of G2 and still keep getting the same error message. Parameters and error was the same as above.

do you get any warnings in the systemcheck step of the installer? if yes, see the G2 FAQ (link in my signature).
and then make a clean install.

The first time I got no error before the debug log appeared. The two installs after that I got "Fatal error: Cannot pass parameter 3 by reference in /home/guero/public_html/adventuredad/gallery2/modules/core/CoreModuleExtras.inc on line 89". When I go back and try again, the debug log shows up

In bewteen the installs I have of course cleaned out the db's and deleted all G2 items from server.

guero, i see, it's just that the error that you've posted had not this 3rd parameter error in it.

see the other thread for a fix. a fixed G2 version should be out in one or two days.
