We should add better (copy) rights / licensing management to Gallery.

http://pro.corbis.com/
seems to do it the right way. Lots of licensing / rights information.
I guess this is Bill Gates "i buy copyrights for all images/pictures of the world" project.

On the first page you see links to licensing and rights information.
And when you search for an item, e.g. "picasso" and click on the image, you get further rights information.

In Gallery, we should add extensive rights / licensing support on a per item basis. Of course you have such things deactivated, but there will be enough people who need it.

What do you think about it?

I think having this as an optional module that can be assigned on a site-wide, album and item level basis would be a good thing for quite a few of the photographers out there.

In combination with watermarking it could really protect their work and make it easier to inform people of the proper usage or how to obtain the proper rights to use their photos.

Without something like this a person would need to come up with their own layout to display this information on either a site-wide, album or item level basis.

Has anyone thought of starting this project up again,.. it would be great to promote Copyright through gallery as it would be the majority of Gallery users who are most likely to give away their copyright through ignorance,...
