maybe we could add a filesize next to the item dimensions as a warning too.

May I add something along these lines?
To my great surprise, I tested an upload into G2B3 of an .X3F file that is made from a Sigma camera. To my utter amazement, it was read and morphed into a viewable JPEG. Wow.
What I cannot do is then go back and download the original X3f file as if I were an interested user who wanted to acquire the original RAW X3F.
I cannot express how important this function is. Being able to upload an original file and then being able to download it would allow photographers the ability to post RAW images, TIFF images, whatever, and make them available for printers among other things. Permissions can of course control access.
But adding this ability to download the original file would be a very large thing to photographers. I can't do that now. It goes with the previous request above to just be able to download the orignal upload. This would be a big deal. Very big.
