Changing language without gettext support

Hello,

The webserver of my provider doesn't support gettext. I read some topics in faq's of G1 about changing languages on servers that don't have gettext support. Is it possible in G2 to change languages when there is no gettext support?

I asked my ISP to reconfigure PHP with gettext support, but I don't think that they are willing to do so
