First I would to thank all of you for a great product, your hard work, and dedication. I am building a family site and everything is going pretty well, I just have a couple minor questions (issues) I’d like some info or help with and if any of these are already answered please direct me to where the answer is. Oh and the new addtion of the little icons was a nice addon touch.

First: I have zip support installed, working, and can download an album in zip form. Here is my question - is this info-zip form compitable with the XP zip support and winrar? This is why I ask cause when I download a zip, xp says file is corrupt and won't open. Winrar says corrupt but at least sees the files are in the zip. So something is working.

Second: The java upload applet isn't working right for me. I do have Gallery1 istalled and it works fine. But when I try uploading with G2 it bombs. Now let me tell you how - the applet loads in g2 and you can pick the files you want to upload, the error comes when you click upload (in the pop up) here is the error: Gallery Remote can find no protocol implementation at the URL http://***.***.***/. Check with a web browser that http://***.***.***/ is a valid Gallery URL. This happens with both IE and Firefox. It also will not cancel I have you task manager to kill.

These are my first 2 for now, if you need more please ask. Keep in mind I am a basic user with some programing background and can usually find my way around.

- the zip compressed archives should be compatible with the winzip / winrar / ... programs. although, i've never tested infozip. perhaps something's wrong with the info-zip you have running there.

- the upload applet should work. or are you referring to the GR (the standalone applet, not the "add item->upload applet" applet)? GR works if you use one of the newest GR versions. and there are a couple of forum threads about this topic, which you can find with the forum search function.

As far as the info-zip it is the latest download from them for windows - and G2 is pointing to the zip.exe file and test ok.

The upload applet is the mini or as you put it "the "add item->upload applet" applet" - not GRemote - thats why I dont understand the error. It works fine in G1.
