I'm running Gallery on a NSLU2, which is an embedded device with limited CPU. With help from the NSLU2 community, I have commented out the code on the server side so that thumbnails are not created when I upload photos to the server from Gallery Remote.
I was wondering has anyone customized Gallery Remote, to create thumbnails on the local host rather than the server using it's resources to run 'convert' and create the thumbnail?
I'm using Gallery with ImageMagick
Thanks

ibogner contributed a patch to achieve this, but I haven't had time to integrate it yet, sorry. You can try to apply the patch yourself, if you're a developer.

Hi guys
You've done great work on Gallery and Gallery Remote!
You can add me to the list of people that would like to do all the resizeing local. I've got a 2,8Ghz workstation, and a slow server. And jpg's 5-6MB big.

Hi,
i also tried to install gallery on nslu (no problem) but the thumbnail creation has to be done on the local machine with gallery remote. I tried it with the current version of gallery remote but it dint't work. Is the code already in gallery remote? Did i do something wront?
I have only seen that it is possible to resize the images with gallery remote, but it seems that he doesn't create the thumbnails.
