What I would like to see would be a list of Gallery (G2) CSS files and what they have an affect on.
Anyone got something like that?

spencerjw, no, we don't have something like that (would be nice though).
Meanwhile we recommend using Firefox together with the firefox extension "webdeveloper". It allows to click on things to see what css influences it, etc. You can also edit css online.
G2 debug mode (smarty debug console popup) is also a good help if you want to know which templates are part of a final G2 page.

I also find the Firefox DOM Inspector an excellent tool to understand why the change you made to the CSS didn't affect the element you thought it would (due to hierarchy or bad syntax). You have to select it in a custom install of FF. Warning -- it often seems to crash on me, but it's still worth it.
