I am currently running three different galleryprograms for testing. The one that with the best look so far is one called Exhibit Engine. But I know that it should be possible to dress G2 in a similar way. Are you a designer that is itching to have a go? I really do not like the boxfeel of G1, G2 and Coppermine. If you are wondering what I mean, take a look at my test of Exhibit Engine: http://gallery.golfdesign.info/ I just borrowed a subfolder on another domain to test this. G2 has a lot of solid features that could make it the outright winner in a head to head comparison. But it needs a few real slick templates. Is there a template repository somewhere? And when I am at this with templates - how do you upload a new template? I can not seem to find any Upload New button for it. The template system in Mambo could serve as a good example. Very easy to upload a free template. |

G2 uses Smarty Templates right now. Uploading templates is a matter of uploading the right folder via ftp. There are very few templates for G2 right now. One of the reasons is because the software has not hit it's final version yet. Check out this link to see current User Contributions (including themes/layouts:
