On how to deal with the high number of files that Gallery2 has? I tried to upgrade my gallery and it timed out on my hosting site because there was 20,000 files to upload. I have a limit of 30k files on my hosting site, I love this gallery, but im not sure how to get around this ...

Thanks for any input and suggestions

Steven

One file for each picture, one file for each thumbnail, one file for each resized picture...

If you have 20K pictures, the total file number will at least be 40K

I don't see any solution but to change of hosting site or negociate a much higher file limit :-?

upload the zip/tgz to your server and extract it there using a shell or control panel.

the 20k came right from my computer, before the upload. I think I might have some residual files in there from previous CVS upgrades. Im clearing things out now ... hopefully things will improve

Thanks
Steven
