Ok, I'm a bit new at Gallery but I installed 1.5 and it went well. Today I installed (fresh) a copy of G2 and it also installed. (whew)
After the install, I went and logged in as admin and built an album. All of that went ok as far as I worked with it.
My problem is that when logged in (as admin) I see very few options for administration. Can't create new users, and I can't even logout!! There are just the normal user options (I am assuming) that deal with the cart and the albums.
Where did I go wrong?
Thanks.

maybe you're not logged in?
most admin options are in the Site Admin panel.
and if you are lost, please give us your G2 url + admin password (you can change it for a while) or post some screenshots.

Ok... some progress. I think what I am seeing is a problem with either my browser or G2. After doing some resizing of my window, I finally was able to see the 'site admin' link and I clicked on it and created two new users. Fine. Then I logged out as admin and logged in as one of those users.
When I logged in as a user, I again saw no way to logout... but was shown the entire album that the admin created. The only way I was able to logout as the user was to 'view cart' at which point the logout link showed up again.
Now I suspect that if you login, you're going to find everything fine because your browser would be different, but try two users: admin and bmarsh both with a password of test.

most of us use Firefox and we see the logout, ... links on each page. what layout / theme do you use? the standard (matrix, matrix)?
btw: which g2 version are you using? beta 2?

ok, SECOND try to get in the thread (yeah, yeah, I forgot to login before writing my post, lol)
I installed a fresh G2 today, and the install went fine. Added some albums, added some pictures, then logged out and went off to make dinner.
Came back to play a little longer, and tried to log in. No site admin privelege at all. All I can do is view a slideshow.
Yes, I *am* using the correct admin/password.
Any suggestions?

madmblue, you're not bmarsh, right?
However. You say you don't see any other action links but the slideshow. Do you see the Site Admin link OR "Welcome Admin" messages?
Or do you can't login? i.e. when you hit login, you get again a view where you can enter user/password? or are you really logged in?

I am having this same problem

Yes, Valiant--after I login, I am returned to the same login screen over and over again. If I try a password that I know to be incorrect, G2 gives me the "incorrect login information" screen. The correct password gets me plain old nowhere.
Okay, I'm back and editing my last message...
After reading another post in the forum, I tried deleting the cookie for logging into G2. That did it...I entered the correct password, and got right in. I closed my browser and tried to duplicate the problem again. One time I was able to duplicate the same login problem and deleted the cookies again. After that, login has worked flawlessly. I've been in and out of my G2 several times with no problems.
FWIW, I'm using Firefox.

madmblue, very interesting. we're trying to fix this problem at the moment. maybe you could check if the fix works for you when we have it ready tomorrow or in the next few days.
you said you were using Firefox.
- On what operating system?
- Do you access G2 with www.domain.com and with domain.com?
- do you use the url rewrite module?

I'm using Firefox 1.0.3 on WinXP. I was trying to access G2 by typing domain.com/gallery. (Firefox has this neat little trick of entering the "www." for you)
I did not install the rewrite module, because that's a little over my head yet.
Hope this helps.

all cookie problems should be fixed now. get tomorrows nightly snapshots and let us know if you still experience problems.
